Juul’s and other vaping products can be more harmful than smoking a cigarette

Vape pens has a risk for abuse and overuse!

Side effects from e-cigarette use are common. Using e-cigarettes, JUULs, or other vaporizer devices may cause:

  • coughing
  • dry throat
  • sore throat
  • dry eyes
  • headaches
  • nausea
  • dizziness
  • dry mouth
  • shortness of breath

These side effects may be more common when a person first starts using vape products, and they may go away with time. They may also go away if the person stops using any of the vaping devices.

E-cigarette use does not guarantee that a person will not use cigarettes. Sometimes, e-cigarette use by nonsmokers and young people may actually lead them to be curious and use other products, such as cigarettes.

Smoking other products will lead to even more nicotine in the body, making it harder to quit either form of the drug. Vaping can be more addicting than cigarettes’ without even knowing it. One JUUL refill pod contains as much nicotine as a pack of 20 regular cigarettes. Originally e-cigarettes such as JUUL were marketed as tools to help people break their cigarette habit. However, with evolving evidence, there are lasting health consequences of e-cigarettes and products like them, including irreversible lung damage and lung disease.
